Wundt founded the first laboratory exclusively devoted to the study of psychology, at the University of Leipzig. He was also the first person ever to refer to himself as a 'psychologist.' Although his research and prolific output as a writer went far beyond psychology, delving also into physiology and even philosophy, he is best remembered as one of the fathers of modern psychology.
