Martin Battersby (British, 1914-1982) Archaic Smile Three lithographs printed in colours, signed, numbered 4/100, 5/100 and 13/100 and dated '1982' in pencil, published by The Curwen Studio, together with 52 unsigned and unnumbered examples, unframed (55) The numbered lithographs: Image 700 x 496mm (27 1/2 x 19 1/2in) Sheet 762 x 560mm (30 x 22in) Footnotes: Created in 1982, the year of his death, this series is likely to have been the last produced by Battersby. This may explain the large amount of unsigned and unnumbered examples in the present lot.
