Lia Williams (as Wallis Simpson): A silk dress and sash Season 1, Episode 10, 'Gloriana' Custom-made full length black dress with short sleeves, and a large grey spiked detail across the shoulder and chest; together with a grey sash with large green chevrons (2) Footnotes: This episode is set on December 10th, 1936. Alex Jennings and Lia Williams (as Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson) dance together in the library. The music and their dance are interrupted by the announcement that Jared Harris (as Edward's brother, Albert) has arrived. In the following scene, Edward VIII informs his brother that he will abdicate. The costume design for this dress is the second sheet for lot 13 in The Crown Live Auction, Bonhams New Bond Street, 7th February 2024.
