Four Cobalt-painted Stoneware Jugs, New England, 19th century. Assembled group includes two bulbous jugs with tapered lip and pulled handles, one impressed with mark of L. Norton & Son (Bennington, Vermont, 1785-1858) above a painted flower on frontispiece, the other impressed 'T. CRAFTS & CO / WHATELY' (Massachusetts, 1833-48); together with two one-gallon shouldered jugs decorated below impressed mark of S.L. Pewtress (New Haven, Connecticut, 1837-1915), largest wd. 7 1/4, dp. 7 3/4, ht. 11 in. Footnotes: Note Proceeds to Benefit the Historic Deerfield Museum Collections Fund.
