A Continental Cavalry Trooper's Sword, And An American 1860 Model Light Cavalry Sabre The First No. 871, 19th Century, The Second Mid-19th Century The first with curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point, the forte on one side stamped with inspector's mark, a lion sinister above 'G' and 'GB', brass hilt of two bars swept up to join the knuckle-guard, the latter stamped with three inspector's marks including lion sinister mark, and leather-covered grip bound with a strand of twisted brass wire; the second of similar form (blade lightly pitted overall, marks at the forte erased), each in its steel scabbard (rust patinated) with two rings for suspension (2) 90.3 cm. and 86.7 cm. blades For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
