A rare second quarter of 19th century and later English mahogany carriage/travel timepiece Unsigned, the case probably of a later date The rectangular case surmounted by a foliate-cast gilt brass handle over a large bevelled glass inspection panel, similar panels to the sides and front set below a ripple moulded cornice, on an ogee base with pad feet, the 3.5' rectangular gilt dial with Roman chapter ring set within engraved floral spandrels and foliate-scroll centre, with unusual original blued steel trefoil hands, the chain fusee movement with four tapering pillars, maintaining power to a large gilt platform with monometallic balance to a jewelled English lever escapement, together with two case keys and a winding key, 27cms high overall This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: * * VAT on imported items at a preferential rate of 5% on Hammer Price and the prevailing rate on Buyer's Premium.
