His Sale; Christie's, London, 25 November 1993, lot 129 Con ran the Morley Gallery for a number of years, at Morley College in London, where Hambling has taught regularly for 55 years. The gallery recently held an exhibition, Maggi Hambling: Teacher, demonstrating the impact she has had on her students since she began teaching painting in 1969, her legacy and her long-standing connection with the institution. Several portraits by Hambling are included in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, amongst them depictions of the art dealer Victor Musgrave, Nobel Prize winning chemist and crystallographer Dorothy Hodgkin, and world-famous tennis player Andy Murray.
