Ursula Morley-Price 'Flanged ruffle bowl', 1980s Stoneware, layered dry slips and glazes in mottled brown. 7.5 x 17.5 x 16.5 cm Impressed with artist's seal. Footnotes: Provenance Peter Dingley Gallery, Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom Acquired from the above by the present owner, 1970s Literature 'Amateur Et Céramiste', la revue de la céramique et du verre, no. 37, November-December 1987, p. 24 for a similar example Yvonne Brunhammer, et al., Collection Fina Gomez, 30 ans de céramique contemporaine, exh. cat., Musée des Arts décoratifs, Paris, 1991, p. 115, cat. no. 137 for a similar example Born in 1936 in London, Ursula Morley-Price studied at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and Stade University College. After spending six months in Hans Coper's studio, she set up her first studio in Hertfordshire and then in France, marking the beginning of numerous destinations around the world. Her works, created by her particularly meticulous technique of stretching the coil, poetically resemble flora from the ocean floor moving with the gentle currents.
