A CASED AND ENGRAVED MASSACHUSETTS ARMS COMPANY MAYNARD PRIMED POCKET REVOLVER, 1851-60. Serial number 967, 23 in., .28 caliber, round barrel, the cylinder strap marked 'MASS. ARMS CO/CHICOPEE FALLS' cylinder with etched foliate scroll and arrow & quiver decoration; foliate scroll engraved steel frame with tape door marked 'MAYNARD'S PATENT/SEPT. 22. 1845,' hard wood grip; housed in a walnut case opening to a compartmented orange velvet lined interior with a brass two-ball mold and an embossed brass powder flask. Overall lg. 7 1/4 in. Condition: Barrel, cylinder and frame toning to brown but with areas of bluing remaining, grip has minor wear and blemishes, action functions properly; case is good, interior is faded, accessories are good.
