A KITTREDGE MARKED MANHATTAN NAVY MODEL SERIES IV REVOLVER, Newark, New Jersey, 1864-67. Serial number 45364, .36 caliber octagonal barrel marked on the left side 'B. KITTREDGE & CO./CIN. O.' and on the top 'MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO. NEWARK N.J./PATENTED MARCH 8, 1864' with German silver front sight and loading lever below; five-shot roller engraved cylinder with five scenes marked 'PATENT DEC 27. 1859'; steel frame, with silvered brass trigger guard and grip strap; walnut grip, all visible serial numbers match, wedge not marked. Barrel lg. 6 1/2, overall lg. 11 3/4 in. Condition: Barrel retains approx. 40% bluing with the remainder toned to mottled brown, cylinder toned to brown with a trace of bluing, frame toned to mottled gray, trigger guard and grip frame retain approx. 70% silvering, grip has minor dings and dents, action functions properly.
