Footnotes: Provenance Gifted by the artist as a wedding present to her niece, Geraldine Shoard. Private Collection, U.K. Exhibited Dublin, The Dawson Gallery, cat.no.1 The composition of Dublin Bay is typical of McGuinness's later work, dominated by the bold swirling lines of tidal pools and featuring a high horizon line, that results in a topographically recognisable scene enlivened by her distinctive approach to depicting the strand near her home in Dublin.
