A SATSUMA SMALL PLATE AND A SMALL BOWL The plate by Ryokuzan, the bowl by Kizan, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Each decorated in enamels and gilt; the plate with a representation of Shirasuga Station from the Hoeido Tokaido gojusan tsugi (53 Stations of the Tokaido Road) print series by Hiroshige, enclosed within a fan cartouche on a ground of blossoming autumn plants beneath a bamboo sudare (blind); signed on the underside in gilt Satsuma yaki Ryokuzan tsukuru, 18.3cm (7 1/8in) diam.; the bowl interior depicting a group of figures at leisure, strolling along the shores of a lake during the momijigari (maple-foliage-viewing) season, sailing boats and Mount Fuji looming in the distance, the exterior with two wide bands, one showing a ladies seated and composing a poem, the other with roundels enclosing, peonies, irises, daffodils, chrysanthemums and morning glory; signed on the base with seal Kizan kore o tsukuru, 6.5cm x 12.5cm (2½in x 4 7/8in). Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
