DIAMOND AND GEM-SET OWL BROOCH 1st: Gem-set foliate pendant/brooch Circular-cut sapphires Length 5.0 x 2.9cm 2nd: E.Wolfe & Co. gem-set owl brooch, 2001 Sapphire cabochons 18 carat white gold Maker's mark E.W & Co., London hallmark Length 3.5cm Total weight approx. 25.0g (2) Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION 1st: Light surface wear to unhallmarked metal (testing as 17ct gold), some small scuffs. Reverse stamped 750 and Italian assay mark. Front of one spray stamped with indistinct, rubbed mark. Pin fitting secure. Sapphires untested, displaying a light/medium blue hue. 2nd: Light surface wear to 18 carat white gold. Reverse of brooch with maker's mark E.W&Co. and London hallmark for 18 carat gold with date letter B. Pin fitting secure. Sapphires displaying a medium purplish blue hue with inclusions visible under 10x magnification. Diamonds bright and lively. Overall in good condition. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
