Godet Origine (1x 3 ltr) Fill Level: filled to three litres Label: engraved labelling Alcohol content: 40% ABV Notes: Jeroboam No. 1 of 3. Assemblage of 45 year old eaux-de-vie; accompanied by a solid copper sculpture stand and copper finished glass pipette by Romain de Souza. Grande Champagne, produced and bottle by Cognac Godet. Footnotes: Please note that this lot is stored at Bonhams, New Bond Street This large format three-litre cognac, designed by Romain de Souza, is suspended in the air by a massive copper pedestal, reachable with a copper finished pipette. 'Origine' is a 45-year-old Grand Champagne cognac aged exclusively at La Rochelle by the Atlantic Ocean by three-generations of Godet, Jean, Jacques and Jean-Jacques. The pedestal allows a close to perfection assessment of the colour and texture of the cognac and the pipette to serve each glass like the master blender does straight from the barrel. The artist Romain de Souza is a friend of the Godet family and has developed an obsession for Copper. He uses it to revisit the European traditions of art. More recently he has focused on the Godet heritage with a first personal interpretation of sailing (Sail project), this 'Origine' project looks into cognac and its protocol. 'Origine' is 100% handmade cognac and sculpture produced at 3 original copies only. Lot to be sold without reserve.
