Domaine de la Romanée Conti Richebourg, 1971 (1 bottle, 5.5L) Region: Côte de Nuits Fill Level: 5cm Capsule: corrosion to top of wax Label: light bin staining, one small crease to right edge Notes: cellar history indicates bottle was rewaxed by importer on arrival due to damage in transit Footnotes: Tracing its roots back 793 years, DRC long ago took its rightful place front and center in the pantheon of vinous excellence. The vineyard contours were defined by Cistercian monks, and its literal modern roots still dive down deep into the region's ancient marl and limestone rich soil. DRC's rich and dramatic history of ownership has been defined by family disputes, bidding wars, revolutions and strokes of genius; the estate's recent director, Aubert de Villaine, once declared his intention for DRC wines to 'touch the eternal' - herein, you can taste it. Oversized Lots
