Beschreibung
FUJII YOSHITOYO (BIHO, BORN 1868) OF KYOTO and KOMAI OF KYOTO A Finely Etched Sentoku (Brass Alloy) Small Vessel and Cover; and A Partially Inlaid Iron Baton, Meiji period (1868-1912). The box worked predominantly in etching technique with strands of gold overlaid on the sentoku with extensive chased details, the cover with a rural scene depicting a water wheel in front of thatched dwellings, sailing boats in the distance and Mount Fuji, the box with six decorative roundels; stamped on the base with the Mount Fuji mark of Fujii Yoshitoyo. The baton consisting of an iron handle inlaid in gold flat relief with a writhing dragon and decorated by a similarly inlaid monogram on the top surface, the lower section of wood; signed with a gold seal Koma. 5.1cm x 5.1cm (2in x 2in); and 18.2cm (7 1/8in) long.
