Bandhelm aus Eisen, frühbyzantinisch, 6. Jhdt. 4,3 cm breites Stirnband, am oberen Rand mit dreiteiliger Kalotte aus zwei Seitenteilen und einem Scheitelband vernietet. Das rundherum geführte Stirnband mit drei Nieten in sich verbunden, das Scheitelband mit den Seitenteilen auf jeder Seite mit je fünf Gruppen aus drei V-förmig angeordneten Nieten zusammengefügt. Einige kleinere Ausbrüche, vor allem der Seitenteile der Kalotte, sonst weitestgehend intakt. Oberfläche korrodiert und fachmännisch stabilisiert. Durchmesser 21 cm, Höhe 15 cm. Österreichische Privatsammlung, erworben in den 1980er Jahren im Kunsthandel.Zustand: III + An early Byzantine iron banded helmet, 6th century 4.3 cm wide headband, the upper edge riveted to the three-piece skull comprised of two side parts and a crest band. The circumferential headband fastened at the back with three rivets, the crest band connected with the side pieces on either side with five groups of three rivets arranged in V-shapes. Several minor losses, in particular at the side parts of the skull, otherwise largely intact. Surface corroded and expertly stabilised. Diameter 21 cm, height 15 cm.
